My new BambooFun

Hi,this is Anla,using her new BambooFun. I took a break from Blogging but now I'm back! I took a break from knitting and still hasn't recovered yet. In case you don't know, a BambooFun is a penpad.I use it to draw. I have ALOT to talk about but that will hafta wait till tomorrow.

Junior High Scares Me

As y'all know, I've just started junior high and the thing that bothers me is the extreme differences of some people. For example, some kids do drugs while others have never even touched a beer bottle. I didn't really know anyone ever on the bad side of the differences except now. There's a rumor saying someone (I'll call her M) is pregnant. Like, there are some girls in my grade that have never even had a crush! M was in my class in 1st grade which was a long ago and she was kinda my friend before she became popular so I kinda hope it's not true but kinda not care at the same time.

I hate Ike

I hate Hurricane Ike. I know have no school or anything but the power went out for 4 days (it went back on yesterday) and a couple of trees fell down and one made a hole in my roof. I would post some post-hurricane pictures but I didn't take any (unfortunately). School's out for the rest of the week so yay for that.

New School

I started school on August 25 at a new school. The school's HUGE and I have a lot of homework so I have no time to knit and do my other hobbies.
Today was the first day of PE and we had to run around the football field/track while the cross-country kids called us wimps for not able to run 5 miles without wanting to pass-out. The locker rooms also stink so my friends and I are planning to each bring a bottle of perfume or body spay to make the place smell pretty.

Starting over

I haven't posted in a while and so many exciting things have happened and I don't know where to start so let's start all over.

School's starting on Monday. I'm starting junior high so I have to change schools. I missed orientation so 1. I don't have my textbooks 2. I haven't met my teachers 3. I couldn't get help with my locker the day I went to get my schedule because it's jammed.

On Vacation

As you know, I'm on vacation and most places in China have no internet so:
1. I can't blog
2. I can't email
3. I have no contact with the outside world
4. Rachel is being crazy and saying I died and went to heaven
5. uuuuh... I don't know. I just think there should be a number 5

When I go back to The Woodlands, I'll post my vacation pictures for everyone to see.
BTW, I'm in Huhhut, Inner Mongolia.

I'm in Nanjing

Greetings from China!
I'm right now here in Nanjing.

Here's a basic summary of what's going on:
Saturday: I left The Woodlands, went to New York, and left for Beijing on the plane
Sunday: Arrived in Beijing and then got a train to Hefei
Monday: Arrived in Hefei
Tuesday: Got on a train to Nanjing and arrived an hour later
Wednesday: Still in Nanjing
Thursday: Today

If you have no idea where all these places are here's a dictionary sort of:
The Woodlands: The suburban town outside of Houston where I live
New York: Almost everyone already knows
Beijing: The capital of China
Hefei: The capital of the Anhui province and also where my mother grew up and where I went to preschool
Nanjing: uh...

I would post some pictures of the inside of my maternal grandparents' apartment but it's 4 in the morning right now and I don't feel like going through my backpack to find everything. And for some weird reason, I like to act really scientific right now.

And tomorrow, I'm going to my dad's hometown. I would tell you what it's called but I can't spell it.

Airport in New York

Right now, I'm at an airport in New York. I have internet because my dad got into me the Continental Airlines President Club. My flight to China is delayed by 3 hours.

There Will Not Be Pictures

I can't find the cable-thing-majig that connects my laptop to my camera so there will not be pictures. Just like how there will be blood (I know, not funny).
Well, anyhow, my mom invited over a bunch of her friends to play cards so I'm extremely bored and my dad's on a business trip in San Francisco.
And in case you didn't know, in three weeks, I'm leaving for China. Yes, China. The communist place. Actually, communism isn't that bad and I was kind of being racist towards myself. Haha.

yesterday was my birthday. i got guitar hero 3, knitting needles, and a mochimochi land gift certificate.
but the upstairs ac also broke. now the temperature is almost hotter than outside. it's 89 degrees and getting warmer byt the second.
now me and ed, my li'l brother, have to sleep in the living room.
oh, and i also need ideas on wut to buy with my giff ferfificate.

my parents

i just realized i've never told you people about my parents.
basically, my parents trust me to make my own decisions, like the entire loaf of raisin toast i ate half an hour ago.
my mom is gonna teach a introductory class on speaking chinese at a nearby community college during the summer. she got highlights put into her hair today. her hair's dark dark brown like mine but mine has natural highlights.
my dad taught me how to write numbers in binary code on friday and it's easier than i thought it would be.
uuuuuh, that's basically it.
oh, btw, i'm chinese but anla isn't my chinese name. it has nothing to do with my chineseness.

field day

today was field day1 i'll never have another field day in my life unless i become an elementary school teacher and i wanna be a preschool teacher. field day got cancelled an hour early cuz it was really hot out and according to some people, people were passing out cuz of the heat. last year, it was too muddy and wet outside and field day also got cancelled. when our class was at the soccer station, i slipped on purpose and got muddy which was so fun. of course, i still had to pretend it was an accident. haha

I think I set a trend today. Everyone had to wear yellow to school today and I brought a box of foam stickers to give to my friends who didn't wear yellow. Then, other people started asking for yellow foam stickers and I ran out by 2nd block.

There are two reasons why I wrote Mr.N's 3rd law up there. 1)There's a science test on Friday 2) I got a bad tummy ache after I ran out of stickers.

I think a possibility of having strap throat is the unequal and opposite reaction. Wow, I'm learning inequalities in math. See Domino, math and science are strongly related.

So little time

Sorry I haven't posted a bunch of things. I was really busy with school (TAKS tests, World Cultures Summit, projects...). Here's a summary of what I was doing:

4/25/08:I WENT TO THE AVRIL LAVIGNE CONCERT!!!! It was so much fun.

4/29/08:Math TAKS. It was really, really easy.

4/30/08:Reading TAKS. The last TAKS of the year. 6th grade only got 2 this year. (My brother had to take 3.)

5/1/08:I got my Ravelry invite which I applied to about a month ago!!

I got the new DDD book and read it in about a day.

5/7/08:The World Summit trip was so much fun!!! I had no idea Phoenix and Cameron were into belly dancers.

5/8/08:The Coulson Tough 3rd Annual World's Fair. The group I was in got assigned Colombia. I didn't know Colombia had a lot of drug dealers. I knitted a Blue Morpho Butterfly toy using an i-cord and the wing pattern for Butterfull as part of the project display. Pic ASAP.

5/9/08:My parents anniversary. As usual, I forgot and felt bad about it. We went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner and stopped by Barnes and Nobles. Someone who worked there yelled at me and my brother for walking up the escalator that was going down.

Today is Mothers' Day and like my parents anniversary, I forgot. I tried making my mom breakfast but it ended up looking like someone ate cherries, chocolate, and a cup of yogurt and puked it up. Then someone elso thought it was instant pudding mix, so he put in a bowl and whisked up. I'm still working on something for dinner.

My friend Rachel sent me a story her 6 year-old little brother wrote.

My Stupidity+A Desk in a Dark Corner=Subject of This Post

I know I said I would post my Earth Day creations either the day after Earth Day or Wednesday, but then I realized Wednesday WAS the day after Earth Day. My camera's battery is low so no pictures until Sunday.

Also the TAKS test is coming up soon. The TAKS test is like the SATs except it's only for kids from 3rd grade to 12th grade in Texas and there are certain tests for certain subjects. Next week, I have to take the Math TAKS and the Reading Comprehension TAKS. Since we have the TAKS tests, everyone is has to sit in alphabetical order which means in every class, I have to sit in the very back corner, except language arts. In language arts, I'm almost wedged between a wall and a cabinet so I have a chance of getting whacked in the face with a cabinet door. Also, I can't see the white board from where I'm sitting in language and that little corner is so dark. Thanks a lot, Mrs. B.

Oh yeah, I finished my pidge scarf before I checked the results of the poll. I guess the 3 people who voted for "Recycled Pidge Scarf" are psychic. Don't worry, I will post my drawings for the people who voted for my artwork. Pattern and picture tomorrow or Sunday.

YAY!!! Today is Earth Day! Happy Earth Day to all!
I usually celebrate holidays or birthdays the day before or after because I'm usually not prepared to celebrate and party. Tomorrow or Wednesday, I'll post some pictures of my Earth Day creations, which I'm going start to making right now.

Dough People

Today, my mom was making spring rolls and I was very bored, so I made two dough people out of the leftover dough.

I used sesame seeds to make the eyes and shape the mouths

Oh! And yesterday, I designed a logo for this blog. This blog deserves a logo. I think I'll put the logo on here next Saturday.

Later that day: I finished making the Sausage Dog for Domino.











Not much happened today, except I got new shoes.

Yesterday, I finished my Butterfull! I named her JellyBean.





Well, Anna of Mochimohi Land offered to post pictures of Jelly Bean on her blog. I immediately said yes.

I also got all A's on my report card, but that's not important.

Yesterday was Slap-Ass Friday

Yesterday was "Slap-Ass Friday". My friend Esther kept on trying to slap everyone's butts. To prevent her from doing that, everybody ran away from her and would sit down on the sand covered ground that made up the school playground.

Also, on Thursdsay, I finished making the body of Butterfull. Instead of using sfety eyes or beads, I colored two of my old Clickits pieces black with a Sharpie.

I just bought a Ripstik and not to brag or anything, but I'm already pretty good at riding it.

I just finished doing my Spring Cleaning for this spring and planted some forget me nots this morning.

Good News, Bad News

Good news and bad news.

Good news: Anna from MochimochiLand has offered me 2 FREE patterns because she thinks it's cool how I'm a young knitter. I just have to send her the results which I will. I'll only choose one but I was so happy I screamed (2nd time today. The first time was when the fire drill alarm went off and I didn't know there was a fire drill.) and Ed, who was practicing piano, shouted, "Anla, SHUT UP!!!"

Bad news: I have a zit. This pimple is pretty big. I've never had a bigger before. A few days ago, it was just a small bump, invisible on my face. Now, it's red!!

Derrick's B-day

Yesterday was Derrick's birthday. Derrick is in the 2nd grade at my school. The reason I know him is kind of odd. He is my brother's best friend's little brother. I went to his birthday party last night and didn't get home until around 11:30, which is sorta late for a 8 year-old. Well, I knew it was his birthday but I didn't know I was invited to his party until 30 minutes before the party so I tried to knit up a slug for him. I didn't finish it so I decided to stick it in a purse I knitted last December but the seam that linked the strap and purse together ripped so I grabbed my denim bag which is stuffed with unnecessary papers. While I waited for my parents to get out of the house, I stood in front of the recycling bin tossing out yarn labels and old patterns.

I ended up finishing the slug after dinner at the party which wasn't hard because all everyone was doing was playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

This is the game they are all so addicted to.

Derrick asked me to name the slug so I named it Grapefruit. Grapefruit ain't a guy or a girl just like how ain't ain't a word. Grapefruit is just Grapefruit. I will post a pic of Grapefruit next time I go to Derrick's house.

Also, I'm not done with my Recycled Pidge Scarf, yet.

Dental Care

I almost forgot. Thursday afternoon, my little bro Eddie got a headgear. He pretty embarassed about it so he only wears it in his sleep.

Spring Break :(

Tomorrow is the last day of spring break and I barely got anything done. I got back from Las Vegas Thursday morning at around 3am. I hate Continental.

The knitting project I'm working on now is called "Recycled Pidge Scarf". I designed it. I know nobody reads my blog but I'll post the pattern tomorrow because I'm planning on finishing it today.
